3.4 NetWork

Jaguar NetWork

when playing doom over the jaglink (without catbox), there is no sound but krrrr's, and it crashed very often. Here's how i got my cable:

Ein passendes DSP-Verbindungskabel (Bastelanleitung) mit dem man z.B sehr gut Doom Spielen kann

The connection for two machines goes like this:

Machine A Machine B
----------------------------
8 ---- combine with ---- 9
9 ---- combine with ---- 8
12 --- combine with --- 12

.. but i remember playing doom in jaglink with sounds and with only 1 crash in 1 hour !! .. so there must be a way to build the connection correctly. have a look to CatBox

How can I play networked games on the Jaguar?

First of all, I'll mention that there's a Team Tap adapter that allows four people to play simultaneously on some games. There's a special White Men Can't Jump/Team Tap combo deal, or you can buy the peripheral seperately. For two player networked games (such as DOOM) Atari offers the Jaglink cable.

If you want to be sure you have support for anything that might be in the future of the Jaguar, you'll want a Catbox. It not only supports networking, but has outputs for all audio, video, and even headphone ports with volume control.
