Here is what I know how to do. These tips (and more) were recently posted to the Jag mailing list.

To make the special inventions, you need a lab. This is the white building. Scientists work faster in these.

Drop this     Gets this
 in lab       invention     Deploy it like this

  Rock        Stone rain    Click over territory (like rain).
                            Will leave rocks scattered about land,
                            slowing construction of buildings.
  Fish        Fish rain     Click over territory (like rain).
                            Will leave fish flopping & gasping all
                            over the place. (Perhaps this will set
                            off traps & landmines as they land???)
  Skunk       Stink bomb    Click on enemy building. Enemies will
                            run out, right into any traps.
  Rabbit      Aphrodisiac   Click on friendly building. Increases
                            fertility. (I guess it can be used on
                            enemies too, but why?!?)
  Dog         Halitosis     Click on enemy building. Decreases
                            fertility. (May work on your team too?)
  Snake       Tree snake    Click on tree. Makes enemies hiding in
                            tree run away.
  Cow         Cow bomb      Click on territory to place bomb. Will
                            immediately begin to attract enemies.
                            They will gather until cow explodes in
                            tremendous explosion that even damages
                            the landscape.

There are still some things I don't know. Such as - what is the purpose
of some of the landscape features, such as the fountains, stonehenge
monuments, and so on? Are there other inventions to be made?
